Dear Ken and Family,
Jerry and I were so sorry to hear of Sandy's passing.
My earliest memories are of Sandy, Patty, Regina and their parents. We lived across from the Lutheran Church in Monticello, and the Harm's lived just around the corner. I must have been three years old. The Harms girls were my first playmates and friends.
As I read the obituary, I was not surprised at the Wonderful Life of giving Sandy lived. It was evident early on in her life.
We pray your memories bring smiles through the tears, and The Lord's Spirit bring you comfort.
Sincerely,
Jerry and Diane(Freese) Husmann

I would like to express our sympathy for your loss. Sandy was very dedicated to this community. I am proud to have served with her as a fellow council member and as a council member while she was mayor.
I know she was proud of the improvements in the industrial park and the time we spent trying to get that accomplished.
Her legacy in this community will live on for years to come.

I don't think that anyone really realizes just how many lives Sandy has touched, since she moved to West Branch. Sandy was one of the most gentle and kind people I have ever known. Others were always put first. Her love for the residents and staff of Crestview, her family, and friends were always paramount in her life. God gave us a very special friend in Sandy Hatfield. Vince and I will always be grateful for the love and concern she had for my mother, while she was a resident. I will always be grateful to Sandy for her love, that was demonstrated to my students, when we would make our monthly visits to the residents. I will treasure the love that we shared as friends. I wasn't blessed with a sister, but if I could have been given a choice - I would have wished that Sandy was that person. Sandy, we will always love and miss you!

We met Sandy when we came to Crestview Care Center with Mrs. Nelson's class from Hoover, several times. She always met the kids and was a really sweet woman. I spoke to her about my grandma too. She was a wonderfully warm and welcoming woman, who will be missed by many. She touched more lives than you'll ever know. Sending hugs to you all at this very difficult time.

Last year our daughter, Emily, along with 3 other students had the Nintendo Wii science project. We spent hours and hours at the nursing home playing Wii games with the residents. Sandy was so nice and so very helpful to our project. We could have not done it without her. She was patient, kind and full of energy. You could tell she really enjoyed her job. We will miss her greatly.
