Mary Catherine Salemink, 50, died Monday, March 23, 2015 at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City.
Services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the West Liberty Community Center in West Liberty. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the West Liberty Community Center. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nichols. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice in Iowa City or to the education fund of her son Sean Salemink.
Mary was born June 19, 1964 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Paul and Geraldine Reihsen Crock. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1982 and attended Kirkwood. She was united in marriage to Larry Salemink on April 9, 1994 in Nichols, Iowa. She was employed with Bankers Advertising.
Mary was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in West Liberty. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Larry and son Sean Salemink of West Liberty; parents: Paul and Geri Crock of Mechanicsville, Iowa; sisters: Linda (Randy) Scheetz of Eldridge, Iowa, Paula Crock of Fairfax, Iowa, Donna (Curt) Garner of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Regina (Ron) Jurek of China and a sister-in-law Doreena Crock of Tipton, Iowa. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Janice Salemink of West Liberty, sisters-in-law: Janene (Alex) Misak of Bettendorf, Iowa and Sandy (Pat) Daily of Belle Plaine, Iowa and 21 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews, as well as her dog Nike.
She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Crock and father-in-law Eugene Salemink.
