Marilyn: I am so sorry and saddened to hear of Brian's passing. It has been fifteen years since I left Iowa City, though I still consider it one of my "homes", and you and Brian were two of the very special people from that area. May all your memories give you comfort, you and the girls will certainly be in my thoughts.

I'm a friend of Bret's, and I wanted to send my sympathy in the passing of Brian. Bret spoke so fondly of Brian, and I was saddened to hear of his passing. We're never ready for it. My hope is that you will cherish the wonderful memories of the times you had together.
Your family has been brought up in the prayers of a lot of people in the Pensacola, FL area, whom you have never met. May the Lord offer you His comfort during this troubling time, and always.

Marilyn and Family,
I worked with Brian at Sauer-Danfoss from 1997 until I transferred to Lawrence, Kansas in 2003 when the plant closed in West Branch. Brian always gave his best and still had time to play jokes on us and keep things very upbeat, Brian loved it when we would try and stump him by challenging his football knowledge. West Branch has lost a great human being, husband, father, citizen and friend to all. Our prayers are with you.

To the family of Brian Hoffman. I have never met you or your family, but would like to extend my heartfelt condolences for your loss. No matter when we lose a loved one in death it is too soon, but when someone as young as Brian dies, it is particularly sad. I was hoping to share a scripture that I hope will bring you some comfort during this difficult time. It is from Psalms 34:18 and it reads: "Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart; And those who are crushed in spirit he saves." My thoughts are with your family today.
