West Liberty, Florence M. McMahon, 84, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the home of Tom and Janette McMahon. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Florence was born on October 31, 1928, in Mercer County, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer and Birdie Thomas Terrill. She was united in marriage to Arthur McMahon on June 3, 1950 in Muscatine County, Iowa. She was a member of and was actively involved in the Christian Church and then First Church United in West Liberty. She was also a member of the Rebekah’s. Florence’s family was always the most important thing in her life. She is survived by 3 sons, Bill (Susan) McMahon, Tim (Heidi) McMahon and Tom (Janette) McMahon all of West Liberty, a daughter Patsy (Raymond) Miller of Muscatine, Iowa, a sister Delta Mumey of New Boston, Illinois, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, and a great granddaughter Chloe.
