West Liberty, Iowa Donald L. Jenks, 91, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. A gathering of family and friends with refreshments will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Saturday 17, 2014 at the West Liberty Community Center. A memorial fund has been established. Don was born February 2, 1923 in Muscatine County, the son of Silas A. and Dora J. Burnett Jenks. He farmed his entire life in the West Liberty area. He was united in marriage to Donna M. Vogel, they were married for 65 years. He is survived by his wife Donna of West Liberty, 4 children: Lyle (Patty) Jenks of Riverside, Leonard (Robin) Jenks of West Liberty, Lucille (John “Jack”) Kastens of Pardeeville, Wisconsin and Don Jenks of Hills; 3 sisters: Phyllis Temple of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Eunice (Kenneth) Brenneman of Lone Tree, and Fran (Charles) McLean of Iowa City. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Lynette Broden, a sister Margie Watkinson and a daughter-in-law Helen Jenks.
