Obituary of Linda Fay Minor

Linda Goodsell Minor of West Liberty, Iowa passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at the Bickford Care Center in Iowa City. She died of complications due to a short battle with cancer. Linda also battled dementia for the past 8 years and declined gradually. She was 7 days shy of her 78th birthday. The family plans to have an immediate private service, and a celebration of life later this summer with date to be announced. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is caring for Linda's family. Linda Fay Goodsell was born on June 14, 1942 in Dumont, Iowa. She grew up in Greene, Iowa in Butler County. She was a graduate of Greene High School in 1959 at the age of 16. Linda moved to Iowa City and was employed at Westinghouse until 1975 when she decided to stay at home and raise her children. On June 2, 1962, Linda married Ken Minor. This year they celebrated their 58th anniversary. Later she was employed with Martin Agency in West Liberty until she retired. She also had her real estate license. Linda was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling, playing slots at any casino, and putting puzzles together. She loved the game of golf and played several times per week, participating in tournaments all over Eastern Iowa. She also served as treasurer of the West Liberty Golf and Country Club. Linda was a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan. She was a football season ticket holder for 58 years. Win or lose, she didn’t miss watching an Iowa football or basketball game. Linda is survived by her husband, Ken; sons Kevin of West Liberty, and Chad (Amanda) of League City, Texas; three grandchildren- Shania, Kurtis, and Elena Paige; one brother- Russell (Linda) Goodsell, sister Fern Davis, and nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Faye and Hazel Goodsell. Linda's family would like to thank all of the close friends who have supported us over the past and recent years.
