I took this sweet picture of Uncle Dave holding an old Christmas card with his childhood photo on it when we were visiting in 2015.

Aunt Janet,
So sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Dave. Know that we are thinking of you and praying for you at this difficult time.
I enjoyed the times when you and Uncle Dave came to visit at my parent's house in Conesville while I was growing up. I loved hearing Dave's stories and hearing him laugh. Dave always had a story to tell and was a caring and kind-hearted person.
I remember our family camping trip to Lake Darling when I was a teenager. I have wonderful memories of being with you and Uncle Dave, as well as the entire Coon side of the family, on that trip. Those are memories I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Sending our love and deepest condolences,
Brenda Braun and family

Uncle Dave had a sincere way of showing others that he cared. As the end of my senior year in high school approached, I was excited yet scared for college ahead. At my sister and my high school graduation party, Uncle Dave took me aside, talked to me in a fatherly way, and offered heartfelt advice about life. That was Uncle Dave, quietly showing his love and support to those around him.
We send our love and deepest condolences to Aunt Janet, and to all family and friends during this challenging time. - Debra Ayres and family
