Obituary of Janice Louise Ritchie

Nichols, Iowa

Janice L. Ritchie, 82, passed away Sunday April 14, 2019 at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City.

Graveside services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Oak  Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Nichols First Responders or West Liberty Rescue Unit.  

Janice was born June 9, 1936 in West Branch, Iowa the daughter of Cecil and Margaret Andersen Swart. She was a graduate of Springdale High School in the class of 1953. She was united in marriage to Ron Voss in 1955 and later to Kenneth Ritchie on July 22, 1983.

She is survived by three daughters: Laurie (Dave) Jansen, Kim (Dave) Mills and Renae (Vince) Fix all of Nichols, 6 grandchildren: Carrie, Stephanie, Anthony, Ryan, Shanda, Dakota and 9 great grandchildren: Briston, Blayne, Levi, Rilee, Beckett, Abbot, Callyn, Cooper and Camden. Sister Marian Nichols of Spirit Lake, Iowa and brother Don Swart living in Hawaii. Preceding her in death were her parents and husband Ken in 1992.
