Hi to the Burr family, Chuck & I are sorry we could not attend the service but please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We were very fortunate to have had Lon and Lynn for neighbors many years. We had such a great neighborhood and Lon and Lynn were a large part of that. Always ready to help and so willing to give a helping hand. May they both rest in peace.

Our deepest sympathy to the whole family. Your dad was of those "one-in-a-million" kind of guys. Thank goodness, I don't think the world is ready for 2 of them.... but the world would be a better place with more men like him. His stories, his laughter, his pranks..... and that smile. That unforgettable smile. What do you suppose our 2 dads are thinking up right now? Some mischief probably..... while our moms are playing marathon bridge!
May your memories bring you smiles and God give you comfort.

To Leisa and Lyman,
Your Dad was an Angel on earth!! Both of your parents were. If you were lucky enough to be invited to the “shop” to smell the saw dust from a project Lon was working on you would be in awe of the skill Lon had mastered over the years as a master craftsman. He could turn a piece of wood into a beautiful bird or animal. It seemed to me that he could build just about anything. My fondest memory of Lon is when he would put his hand next to your ear and click his fingernail and say he had a “cricket” in his hand. He taught me how to wiggle my ears!!!! You were larger than life Lon to a little girl who always thought you were an amazing person. I have always hung the American flag from my house. It waves a little prouder for you Lon. Thank you for your service to our Country and for always making those around you laugh. Big hugs to Lynn. Knowing the two of you are reunited again is comforting. I’m sure my Mom and Dad were there to greet their old friend. Dad most likely had a pair of scissors in hand to give Lon a haircut (family story shared for years)
Rest In Peace Lon.

Lynn was my precious roommate at U of I. When I would journey to New London for a memorable weekend, as I spent time getting acquainted with Lynn’s mother, I saw where she got her endearing qualities. Lynn was a very special person in my life and one of the better achievements I attained was introducing these two remarkable individuals. Rest In Peace, dearest friends.

So sorry to hear of Lons passing. He was always so fun to be around on good old Calhoun Street. Never knew what he would come up with next. Am thinking of all of you at this time. I will be in WL next week so will go by the old house and think back but unfortunately will be gone by time of service to see you all
But will think of you all

All my love to you Liesa and Lyman! I remember such fun stories from your dad around the dining room table. He knew how to tell a whopper of a story that captivated everyone’s attention. His light and the joy he brought to others will be greatly missed. My prayers are with you and your families at this time.

To Liesa and everyone who knew and loved Lon,
He is in the arms of the Savior, and reunited with his true love. How blessed you have been to have him in your lives for so long.
Liesa, I always enjoyed the fun and funny stories you shared with me about your dad. Remember when you borrowed Max and took him to your dad’s? Nobody has ever borrowed a dog from me, lol. But Max and your dad became instant friends, because your dad “never knew a stranger”.
To all of you, my prayers for a wonderful celebration of Lon’s life. May you be surrounded by the comfort that comes from on high.
Love, Heidi
