Obituary of Beverly J. Cornick

West Liberty, Iowa

Beverly J. Cornick, 87, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in West Liberty. Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 9:30 until service time. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Memorials may be made to the West Liberty School Foundation or Bev Cornick Memorial Fund. Beverly was born January 7, 1931 in Mt. Union, Iowa the daughter of John and Dorothy (Davey) Wick. She was a graduate of Mt. Union High School and Iowa Wesleyan College. On August 8, 1950 she was united in marriage to Dick Cornick at the United Methodist Church in Mt. Union. Bev had taught 1st and 2nd grade in Lone Tree for 2 year. In 1961 Bev and Dick moved their family to West Liberty. She lovingly taught dance and tumbling for over 30 years with studios in West Liberty, Washington and Columbus Jct.

Bev was a member of West Liberty United Methodist Church and enjoyed shopping, going to auctions and collecting Beanie Babies. Most of all she loved her family. She especially enjoyed the years when her grandchildren brought their friends over to her home between school and practice to have a snack and just relax.

Survivors include her husband Dick of West Liberty, daughters: Roxy (Mark) Gums of Las Vegas, Nevada and Tammy (Adam) Feldman of Atalissa. Grandchildren: Andy (Nicole) Gums and Luke (Eulalia) Gums of Las Vegas, Nick (Becky) Feldman of West Liberty, Jason (Ashley) Feldman of Wilton and Abby (Edgar) Ortiz of Atalissa. 10 great grandchildren: Avery, Kaelyn, Ireland, Dillon, Zachary, Kolby, Riley, Hadley, Makenzie and Wyatt. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Joanne and Barbara.
