Pete, you had such a big heart! Always giving and doing for others. A kind soul that wore your smile well and shared a contagious laugh. You will be missed by so many. We were blessed to have been touched by your life.
Prayers to Amanda, the love of your life; and prayers to the Rushton family; may God comfort you in your time of loss as God takes another Angel home.

I was surprised and saddened to read that Pete had died. I remember how full of life he always seemed to be in high school. I remember his Mom, Jane, working in the office at the high school. And I knew all of his siblings as well. Susan was in my class, although I don't think I've seen her since we graduated. But, I knew Susan, and I feel for you, Susan. It's got to be hard to lose a sibling, and even harder when he is younger.....just doesn't seem right. Now that nearly all of our parents are gone, we have become the oldest generation still living.....it's hard to realize that. I see that Pete was 65 when he died, and that's how old my Dad was when he passed, but it's strange--Pete seems like he's still just a kid and just too young to be taken away. I'm sure it's that I am having trouble accepting that people of our generation are dying. For the Rushtons that are still here, I just want you to know that I'm sorry you have to suffer this loss. Take care and be kind to yourselves.

My condolences to my whole Rushton Family. My Uncle Pete was the greatest man. We are all very lucky to have known him. He has affected our lives all in different ways, though all special. With his sense of humor and love for his family, you couldn’t have met a man with a bigger heart. His love for my mom, his sister is unmeasurable. He made her life, happier and filled with so much laughter, and for that I will be eternally greatful. Uncle Pete you made me laugh with your jokes, tear up when you spoke of your love for Grandma, mom, and your daughter Amanda, and smile when you gave me the worlds best hugs. You will forever be remembered and missed.
