Obituary of Earl Joseph Eggert

Earl Joseph Eggert, 34, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017.

Visitation will be held 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Graveside service will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday at the West Branch Cemetery. Following the graveside service at potluck meal (a favorite of Earl's) will be held in the lower level of the funeral home. If you are unable to attend the graveside service please join the family at the funeral home for a time of food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made in his name to be used to establish a scholarship. The family requests all attending the visitation, graveside and potluck to dress casual.

Earl was born May 17, 1983 in Iowa City the son of William and Merle Marie (Holland) Eggert. He was a graduate of West Branch High School in the class of 2001. Earl was constantly learning, reading and teaching himself new things.

He was employed with Granny's Antique Mall in Iowa City, Herbert Hoover Presidential Library for 11 years and most recently at a job he really loved; Jack and Jill in West Branch. He especially enjoyed going to auctions, collecting cigar boxes, post cards, old mail order catalogs and much more.  

Survivors include his parents William and Merle Marie Eggert of West Branch and sister Holland Eggert of Cedar Rapids.
