My deepest sympathies to Pam and Darlene and Jon's daughters. Jon was a big part of my life, first as a presence in my high school years at Cedar Falls High School, where his dedication as an AV coordinator helped me as a radio production student and as a CFHS debater--runner-up state champs in 1970!
Jon later surprised me when I learned that he would be joining me at Broadcasting Services when I was Program Director at WSUI. It was great to work with him everyday in the old 1939 radio building at the Univ. of Iowa. We both experienced a lot of changes as the department expanded into TV. I could always count on Jon at any time to help with any sort of radio challenges we faced at WSUI--the oldest station west of the Mississippi.
Jon was a fine man and believed in all the right things. He always spoke highly of his family and his love for Pam and his two girls. My own Conrad connections go way back to seeing Verne and Darlene when I was a kid. I will miss Jon. I am sure you are proud of Jon's role as husband, father and grandfather.
