Joan Crew, 78, of West Branch, died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.
Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice.
Joan was born January 16, 1935 in Mechanicsville, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Erma Anderson Gritton. She graduated from Tipton High School. She was united in marriage to Donald Stafford in 1955. Donald preceded her in death in 1978. She was united in marriage to Fred Crew in 1980. Joan worked several secretary jobs after graduating from school. She later helped Fred with farming and the family business.
She is survived by her husband Fred of West Branch, sons Steven Stafford of Tipton and Jerry Stafford of West Branch, daughter Tammy Halvorsen of Chandler, Arizona, and step sons Mike Crew of Phoenix, Arizona and Tim Crew of West Branch. Joan is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Cody, Cory, Cole, Zachary and Taylor and 2 step grandchildren.
