West Branch, Iowa Mildred A. Ernst, 95, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Crestview Nursing and Rehab Center in West Branch. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church or the Fairview Cemetery Association. Millie was born August 31, 1917, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of John Dohrer Jr. and Anna Ruppert Dohrer. She attended Newport Country School. She was united in marriage to Warren Ernst on November 19, 1939 in the Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City. Millie was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City, the Zion Homebuilders, the North Scott Social Circle, and also served as a 4-H leader. Her hobbies included gardening, puzzles, playing wordfind, crocheting and playing cards. She is survived by her daughters, Jean (Carl) Davis and Judy (Dale) Wilson, both of Iowa City; 9 grandchildren, Tracy, Troy, Jeff, Jenny, Scott, Chris, Bonnie, Martin and Jimmie; and 10 great grandchildren, Shelby, Kelsey, Leah, Kyla, Jesse, Stephanie, Kylar, Keslyn, Amber and Katie. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Ernst, daughter Ruth Trimble, grandson Todd Wilson, sisters: Dorothy Wildman and Margaret Shaw, and brother Bob Dohrer.
