West Liberty, Iowa Fern V. Hormel, 93, died Saturday January 19, 2013 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A. M. Tuesday January 22, 2013 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty where visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. On February 4, 1942 she was united in marriage to Louis Hormel in Anthony, Kansas. She had volunteered at the Simpson Memorial Home, enjoyed reading and cared for all her family especially her daughter Sandra. Survivors include one son Richard (Nancy) Hormel of West Liberty. Two grandchildren: Amy (Jose) Contreras and Todd (Donna) Hormel. 5 great grandchildren: Haley, Abby and Lexus Contreras and Chase and Payton Hormel. One sister: Mary Lou Hunt of Anthony, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Louis, Daughter Sandra and 5 sisters and two brothers.
