West Liberty, Iowa Connie Ann Nealson, 69, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral services will be 11:00AM on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the West Liberty United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00AM before the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at North Prairie Cemetery in West Liberty. A memorial fund has been established. Connie was born February 2, 1943 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Dr. John and Dorothy Flater Carey. She graduated from West Liberty High School in 1961. She then went on to receive training as a medical technician and worked in Tomahawk, Wisconsin and at the University of Iowa. She was united in marriage to Gary Nealson on March 18, 1972 in West Liberty. She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, Aquarius, P.E.O., Questers, and the North Prairie Social Club. Connie enjoyed collecting antiques and baskets, as well as selecting gifts for others especially Christmas ornaments. She also enjoyed going for car rides and visiting newly built homes, and reading books. She is survived by her son Nathan (Kim) Nealson and granddaughter Kinsey of Peoria, Illinois, husband Gary Nealson of West Liberty, mother Dorothy Carey of West Liberty, brother Tom (Lucy) Carey of Ames, sister Becky (James) Wooge of Ames, and brother Jim Carey of West Liberty and his significant other Candace Coberley of Denver. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, special friends and classmates. She was preceded in death by her father Dr. John Carey.
