Richard & Patty,
My mom and I were so sorry to hear Jo passed away. She was such a good neighbor and it seems life goes so quickly at times. I was just a little girl but remember how sweet your mother was. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Pat & family, I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Mother. My Mom & I would have been to the funeral, but didn't know anything about it until it was already over. We are very sorry. My Mom thought alot of Jo. They spend many Legion meetings together over the years. She enjoyed your Mom's letters too, once she moved to Des Moines. Your Mom, was a very special lady. Remember all the special times you had together. My prayers are with you. Deb DeVore

So sorry for your loss; Aunt Jo was a remarkable woman. I have fond memories of our long trips to Iowa and the large family gatherings. May your many memories bring you comfort as you mourn.

I'm so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I can still remember visiting your place and being greeted by Jo in the kitchen, and Bill in his easy chair. They were such wonderful folks.

Dear Richard, Patti, and families,
We want to extend our deepest sympathies to you all. YOur Mom was SUCH a dear friend of our Aunt Ferne!! I have thought about your Mom often over the past 5 years, since AUnt Ferne died. Unfortunately I never did write to your Mom like I told myself I would. But knowing she was there, was like a little of Aunt Ferne was still with us. I had not seen your Mom since I took AUnt Ferne to Des Moines to visit her the summer after she moved there. She was a very special lady,, and will be remembered fondly by many. I'm sure you have enough memories to fill a library. I hope it comforts you to know that we will cherish our memories of her as well.
YOu are in our thoughs and prayers!

As a child, I was so afraid of my Aunt Jo. As a young adult and young mother, I was very lucky when Jo traveled through Delaware and spent the night. We enjoyed 'High Tea' at the Hotel DuPont and my children loved her. She went over so many family stories and we laughed way into the night. It was a gift to me and my family that we got a chance to enjoy her. She was a deeply loved mother, friend, grandmother, wife, sister and aunt and we are all the better for having shared her life.

I am really sorry that I didn't know about Jo's death until about 11:30 on Friday (today). I have been having some eye problems and with death of our son we have been not as connected as we should be. I always enjoyed visiting with your Mother. The heartache that comes with loosing a parent --no matter how ill or old they were--is real. We will add you to our prayer list and hope you tell lots of family stories together today and in the future. Peace to you all. We will be sending a memorial to Camp Wyoming in memory of your Mother.

To Jo's family,
My sincere sympathy is with you. I was Worthy Matron of Purity Chapter OES when she was Worthy Matron of the West Libery Chapter and remember the good times we had together. Our paths crossed several times after that, and always a joy. She will be missed by many. May God's blessing be with you all.
