Atalissa, Iowa Marian M. Peden, 84, died Friday September 14, 2012 at her home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday September 18, 2012 at the West Branch United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00PM on Monday at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Marian was born November 12, 1927 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Minnie Arp Meier. She was a graduate of Durant High School. For a short time she was employed by Pioneer Seed prior to her marriage. On February 6, 1949 she was united in marriage to George A. Peden in Davenport. The couple farmed in Cedar County for many years. Marian loved being an active farm wife, raising her family, and meeting regularly with her best childhood friends over a meal. She is survived by three children: David (Kathy) Peden of West Branch, Marcia (John Jacobs) Kennedy of Houston, Texas and Stacie (Tony) Pridotkas of Muscat, Oman, one sister Patricia Meier of Davenport, seven grandchildren: Scott, Shane, Shanelle, Alicia and Haley Peden, and George and Leila Pridotkas, four great grandsons: Bryston, Brecken, Beau and Cole. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, son Harvey, daughter Susan, three brothers Roger, Charles Jr. and Wayne and two sisters Marvella and Karen.
