West Liberty, Iowa Dora Lee Stagg, 85, died Monday, July 30, 2012 at her home in West Liberty. Funeral services will be held at 11A.M. Friday, August 3, 2012 at First Church United in West Liberty. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. A memorial fund has been established. Dora Lee was born August 22, 1926 in rural West Liberty, the daughter of C. Earl and Helen Swain Smith. She married Francis William “Bill” Petersen on June 30, 1946. He died in 2003. She later married Clarence Stagg on May 2, 2009. Dora Lee was a teacher for most of her life. She taught first at a country school and later in Nichols, Durant and Russell, Iowa. She was a member of First Church United and the P.E.O. She is survived by her husband Clarence of West Liberty, daughters Jan (Bud) Carter of Melrose, Iowa, Pat (Bob) Armbrust of Leawood, Kansas, and Sally (Mike) McMurry of Centerville, Iowa, stepchildren, Letha (Vince) Ottaway, Russell (Bonnie) Stagg, Annette (Jeff) Henderson, all of West Liberty, and Marilee (Tony) Quinlan of Coralville, and a sister Virginia Lodge of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill and step-daughter Audrey.
