Wayne Wesley Wolf, 75, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the West Liberty Community Center. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial of cremains will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. Memorials may be made to West Liberty Fire and Rescue, Iowa City Hospice or a charity of choice.
Wayne was born December 13, 1938 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City to John Clark Wolf and Helen Elizabeth Schiele Wolf. Wayne graduated from West Liberty High School in 1957. He was united in marriage to Arleda Faye Heither on November 6, 1960. He served in the US Army Reserves from 1957 to 1965. He was a member of the West Liberty Jaycees, West Liberty Lions, and the West Liberty United Methodist Church.
Wayne was a farmer, fabricator and general contractor. He worked for McCrabb Bros. Manufacturing and Kloster Associates.
He was a quiet, caring individual who loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Flow. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards with his card club, mowing the lawn, and helping out in the kitchen.
He is survived by his wife Arleda; sons Daryl (Angie) Wolf and Darin (Sherry) Wolf of West Liberty; nine grandchildren: Taylor, Danielle, Travis, Dylan, Brittany, Brandon and Wyatt Wolf, Nicole and Elainee Koehler; a brother Charles (Janet) Wolf of West Branch; sisters: Marie (Richard) Anderson of West Branch and Helen (Harvey) Parker of Stephenville, Texas; a brother-in-law Tom Moehl of Carmel, Indiana and sister-in-laws: Karyl Reinsager and Mary Ann Heither of West Liberty and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, sisters: Eleanor Shoemaker and JoAnn Moehl and brother-in-laws: Tom Reinsager and Tom Heither.
