Hills, Iowa Helen Marie Hines Jenks, 53, died Sunday May 6, 2012 at her home in Hills following a 3 year battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the West Liberty Community Center. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00PM on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice. Helen was born May 21, 1958 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Harvey Hines and Margaret Wood Hines. She was raised by her aunt Raydene Good. Graduated West Liberty High School 1977 and received BA from Baker University in Topeka, Kansas. On March 26, 1977 united in marriage to Don Jenks in West Liberty. She was employed as Project Manager with General Dynamics / Vangent Helen enjoyed Bingo, Playing Slot machines and Reading Books. She is survived by her husband Don of Hills, Iowa, two children: Shiann Holladay of Lone Tree, Iowa and Shawn Jenks of Lone Tree, Iowa, two grandchildren: Madison Holladay and Jolie Jenks. Mother, Raydene Good of West Liberty, Iowa and birth mom Margaret (Jim) Poggenpohl of Walcott, Iowa, 4 brothers: Rick Hines of Columbus Jct., Iowa and Jamie (Stephanie) Poggenpohl of Walcott, Iowa, Randy White of Indianola, Iowa and Tracy (Cindy) White of DeWitt, Iowa. 3 sisters: Anne (Chris) Jackson of Davenport, Iowa, Julie White of West Liberty, Iowa and Dena (Kirk) Reynolds of Tiffin, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her father Harvey.
