West Liberty, Iowa Samuel M. Aranday, 77, of West Liberty, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday May 8, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty. Visitation will be held Monday 5 to 8 P.M. at St. Joseph Church. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established. Funeral services will conclude later with burial in Durango, Mexico. Samuel was born August 20, 1934 in Ignacio Allende, Durango Mexico the son of Juan Aranday and Virginia Mata. He had lived in Chicago for several years before moving to West Liberty in 1979. On June 10, 1982 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Davis Myers. He had been employed with Louis Rich Foods and Northrup King Seed Co. in Lone Tree. He loved to de-tassel, enjoyed baseball, and was a very good BINGO and pool player. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Aranday. 10 children: Juan (Maria) Aranday, Marta (Reginaldo) Hernandez, Maria Magdalina (Miguel) Jacquez, Samuel (Rosie) Aranday, Carlos (Jovita) Aranday, Luis (Erica) Aranday, Graciela (Hector) Sanchez, Saul (Ruby) Aranday, Susana (Marcelo) Moreno and Ricardo (Veronica) Aranday. Stepchildren: Julie (Dan) Myers Milder and Danny (Gloria) Myers. 38 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren also survive. Brother: Patricio and 2 sisters: Christina and Alicia. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Aristeo, sister Lucina and a stepson Dennis Myers.
