West Liberty, Iowa Warren R. Jensen, 83, died Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty, Iowa. Services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, February 13, 2009 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in West Branch. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00PM Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Burial will be in the West Branch Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Warren was born December 6, 1925 in West Branch, Iowa, the son of W.O. and Ella Jensen. He graduated from West Branch High School in 1943. Warren served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Essex during World War II. He was united in marriage to Marie Myers on August 9, 1949 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They farmed in the West Branch, West Liberty area. Warren was a member of the West Branch American Legion and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Liberty. He enjoyed having coffee and telling war stories. He also kept an interest in farming. Warren enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife: Marie Jensen of West Liberty; 2 sons: Bob (Betty) Jensen and Ron (Rhonda) Jensen both of West Liberty; a sister: Thelma Aldeman of Iowa City; 5 grandchildren: Jackie (Andy) Buysse of West Liberty, Emily (Steve) Wilson of Cedar Rapids, Megan (Jens) Zalzala of Los Angeles, CA, Wade Jensen of Brooklyn, NY and Kirsten Jensen of West Liberty; and 4 great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Sophie, and Madison Buysse and Reese Wilson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother: Orvald Jensen and sister: Esther Weismann.
