I didn't get to Iowa much to see my Uncle Bill, but the time I did spend with him was very memorable. In just a few minutes, he taught me how to play cards and just the right place to hit a pool ball. He always made life fun for himself and everyone around him.
To Uncle Bill's family, sorry I couldn't be there for the service. It would have been nice to see you again. Thank you for putting this memory page up for Uncle Bill and our sympathies go out to you and your families.

Billy Campion was my godfather! My mom and dad were Cleve and Bobbie Phelps Parker. He was my father's best friend and along with Janet, make up many of my childhood memories. Janet was my mom's best friend all through school and I'm guessing that was how the guys actually "hooked" up. I remember Bill laughing and smiling through life and hope he continued that way for the parts of his life that I missed. He loved reminding me that he was "there when I was born"! Best wishes to the family although Lori and Kirt probably don't remember me by this time. When I think of Bill Campion, I always smile and isn't that the best legacy?

We'll miss Billy. He was a character, few would dispute that. He had a great sense of humor. When Billy and Carol left Tipton a few years ago it was Tipton's loss. Although he was from West Branch and was always loyal to that area, Billy had a lot of affection for Tipton and it showed. Thanks, Billy, for your many years of service to Cedar county.

Campion Family... We will miss Billy's beautiful smile, great humor and unending friendship. From the first time I met Billy with my Uncle Lee Heick in Tipton when I was a kid, I could never forget such a wonderful, happy person. He treated us with such respect even as a kid. I never saw him without a smile, his face was always lit up. He always knew me and my family where ever we ran into him. He will be truly missed, but I know he will be playing cards, and laughing with Dad and Lee in heaven. Please know we share your loss.
