West Liberty, Iowa Robert Lee Taylor, 82, died Friday January 24, 2014 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday January 27, 2014 at the First Church United in West Liberty. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 until 11 A.M. at the Church. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Simpson Memorial Home. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. Robert was born September 22, 1931 in Rochester, Iowa the son of Charles Orville and Bertha Elizabeth Reed Taylor. In 1950 he was united in marriage to Edith Anita Rehbehn, he later married Marian Bernis Muirhead Thordsen in 1974. He had been employed numerous places including Liqui-Grow, Wiele Chevrolet, Wendling Quarries, the ASCS Office and Oscar Mayer. He was an active member of the Tipton Moose Lodge where he had held several offices and the West Liberty Country Club. He also was a part of the Wiele A.M. Coffee Clatch, where all the world’s problems could be solved in an hour. He enjoyed playing golf, cards, and visiting with everyone. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Marian Taylor of West Liberty. Children: Michael (Rhonda) Taylor of Tipton, Jeanette Taylor-Suhorepetz of Wilton, Eugene (Debbie) Taylor of Wilton, Karla (Michael) Hanrahan of Wellman and Michael (Heather) Thordsen of Lincoln, Arkansas. 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lucy (Bill) Anderson, Earline Taylor, Gladys Taylor, Marguerite (Bill) Fogo, brother Charles “Ted” (Maxine) Taylor and daughter Margery Taylor.
