West Branch, Iowa Ronnie Klinkkammer, 73, died Sunday, February 5, 2012, at his home surrounded by his girls. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Ronnie was born June 7, 1938, in Tipton, Iowa, the son of Alvin and Annie (Miller) Klinkkammer. He married Carol Flanegan at the United Methodist Church in Cambridge, Illinois on August 18, 1969. He served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years as a gunner’s mate on the USS Bennington and USS Ranger. Ronnie was employed at Westinghouse in Iowa City for 15 years with the maintenance department and 15 years for the University of Iowa physical therapy department, retiring in 2008. He was a member of the American Legion Post 514 in West Branch. Ronnie enjoyed spending time with his two granddaughters and was an avid NASCAR fan and loved #48 Jimmy Johnson. He is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Tammy Simmons (fiancé Gary Stout) of West Branch, two granddaughters Felicia and Samantha Simmons of West Branch, and a sister Velva Zousel of Cedar Valley. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Raymond and two sisters Viola Wilcox and Virginia Seaton. The family would like to thank Dr. Bozek and Iowa City Hospice for all their wonderful care.
