West Liberty, Iowa Chan Sengtavanh, 85, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at his home in West Liberty. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the West Liberty United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00PM at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. . Chan was born March 19, 1926, in Vientiane, Laos. He was united in marriage to Nou Sengtavanh. He was an air force mechanic in Vientiane during the Vietnam War. He was later employed with Louis Rich/West Liberty Foods. Chan was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and fixing/inventing things. He is survived by his wife Nou Sengtavanh and his children, Seth Wang, Sinh Phanthavong, Tai Sengtavanh, Souk Phanthavong, Viene Phanthavong, Sal Phanthavong, Chao Tanchinh, Liane Tanchinh, Hom Van Vang, Bien Van Vang, Lom Tanchinh, Houang Tanchinh, Kai Tanchinh, Chindavanh Phonphiboun, Chinamphone Sengtavanh, and Chindavone Sengtavanh.
