Moline, Illinois Harvey D. Hines, 73, died Thursday January 15, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a short illness. Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday January 23, 2009 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice. Harvey was born May 30, 1935 in Iowa City the son of Lester and Esther Bubb Hines. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School and had served in the US Naval Reserves for 8 years. Harvey had lived in Le Claire before moving to Moline where he had spent many years. He was employed as a mechanic all his life working for Linquist Ford, Dahl Ford and most recently Strieter Motor Company. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and ballroom dancing. Survivors include two children: Rick Hines of West Liberty and Helen (Don) Jenks of Hills. One brother: Jim (Bonnie) Hines of Batavia, Illinois, two sisters: Raydene Good of West Liberty and Phyliss Herslow of Galesburg, Illinois. 5 Grandchildren: Shiann Holladay of Lone Tree, Shawn Jenks of Lone Tree, Christina Hines Lone Tree and Cody Hines of Rockford, Illinois. One great grandchild Madison Holladay of Lone Tree. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronald.
