I will always remember Uncle Jim sitting proudly on his tractor or being followed around the farm by "Big Red". Some of the happiest times of my childhood were spent visiting the farm that he loved so much. When we visited last year we took great joy in seeing him beam when his three grandsons climbed upon his lap. He will be greatly missed.
Love,
Michaela & Don

Jim was such a sweet, kind man - so in love with his wife - I loved talking to him when he would stop into the paper to put a little piece of history in for our readers to enjoy. He will be missed.

Dear Lin and Nick, Jim was my "very special uncle" and I will miss him greatly. He truly was one of a kind. He was a man of quiet strength, honesty and integrity with a dry direct wit. His many kindnesses will also long be remembered. Your loss is my loss. Take Care, With love, Linda and Ray

Nick and family,
I am sorry to hear of the passing of your father. After reading the obituary I can begin to envision how strong of a man your father was. The picture of the old barn surrounded by the freshly fallen snow I'm sure represents what was important to your father. Please know our prayers are with your entire family.

As a cousin of Charles Thompson who was probably Jim's best friend in High School Days and his wife Charlotte I have fond memories of Jim in school days and greatly enjoyed his sly humor in his letters to the editor.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. I didn't really know your Dad but enjoyed reading all his stories in the Times.
Stop by sometime.

All my best to Lin and Nick and Pat and Beth. Jim was a real individual and I always enjoyed hearing about what he was up to. As I was buying my Christmas tree last night I was thinking about how many trees he's planted.
