West Liberty, Iowa Arlene L. Nussbaum, 88, died Thursday November 17, 2011 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Monday November 21, 2011 at the West Liberty United Methodist Church with visitation being held from 10 A.M. until service time. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. Arlene was born August 13, 1923 in Taylor Ridge, Illinois the daughter of Harry and Annie Carothers Blaser. She was a graduate of Reynolds, IL High School and attended Business College. She had worked for a short time at Modern Woodman in the Quad Cities. On June 10, 1945 she was united in marriage to Phillip Roy Nussbaum in Taylor Ridge. The couple farmed all their life in Muscatine, Wilton, and Durant before making their home in West Liberty. She had also worked for Louis Rich Foods in West Liberty until her retirement. She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed playing Solitaire. Survivors include one son Lloyd Nussbaum of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Son-in-Law: John Jepson of West Liberty and a brother: Harold Blaser of Reynolds, Illinois. 5 grandchildren: Brandon Nussbaum, Charissa Gibson, Annie Krizan, Katie Eschete and John Jepson. 10 great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Phillip, daughter Dee Jepson and Sister Evelyn Carlson.
