Rusty, we will miss you brother. To the family and friends, we are sorry we couldn't be there today. We loved Rusty very much. We certainly enjoyed his company both here in Florida and in Iowa over the last twenty years. He was a great artist and friend. We will organize a memorial for Rusty in Florida probably around Mardi Gras next year. Rusty had many friends down here. He will be missed and we feel privileged to have known him

My thoughts go out to Rusty's family, including his Krewe family in Florida. While I'm not even sure how long I've known him, he's always been a fixture in my dad's life. He was a terrific story teller and we'll never forget him. RIP Rusty.

When I grew up I was a neibor of Ronnie and Lela's they lived on 6th St. I met your dad a few times when I was young. He was about 25 years older than I. When I grew up I stopped out at Rustys cabin on the Cedar River many times and visited. He was quite the character. I was a painter and painted many farmsteds around West Liberty, I painted the Fairground building one summer I had Rusty Paint a big Advertizing logo on the back of the Amplitheater, He also painted a few farm signs for some of my customers. Lots of good memories, thanks, Thinking of your family.
