West Liberty, Iowa James Keith, 80, died Friday September 9, 2011 at his home in West Liberty. Funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday September 13, 2011 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice or the West Liberty Fire Department. Jim was born April 17, 1931 in West Liberty, Iowa the son of Harold and Lucille Yedlick Keith. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School in the Class of 1948. On February 1, 1950 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Cracraft in Burlington. He had been employed at the Ford garage in West Liberty for many years beginning as a teenager, later working for the City of Iowa City for 17 years until his retirement. He was a former member of the West Liberty Fire Department. He enjoyed working at the farm, NASCAR races and had built jalopy race cars. He is survived by two daughters: Deborah (Mark) Tedrow of Sterling, Illinois and Judy (Rodger) Mardock of Lander, Wyoming. 2 grandchildren: Daniel Tedrow and Stephanie Vallez and one great grandson Frederick Vallez. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie in 2000, daughter Linda, grandson Jason Mardock, sister Donna Freers in April 2011 and a brother Richard Keith.
