West Liberty, Iowa LaMoyne V. Kirchner, 86, formerly of Nichols died Sunday July 10, 2011 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday July 13, 2011 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty with Rev. Don Hodson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Nichols Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. LaMoyne was born January 14, 1925 in Muscatine the son of George and Marie Brown Kirchner. He was a graduate of Nichols High School in 1943. He served in the US Army fom 1948 until 1950. On September 9, 1956 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Jean Holliday in Muscatine. LaMoyne and Dorothy farmed in the Nichols area for many years. He was a 50 + year member of the Nichols United Methodist Church, Farm Bureau, 3 term Nichols School Board Member and enjoyed following his children and grandchildrens sporting activities. He was also a Triple F Feeds and Golden Harvest Seed dealer. Survivors include two children: Kurt (Sue) Kirchner of Nichols and Karen (Loren “Butch”) Britcher of Muscatine. One brother: Ralph Kirchner of West Liberty. 7 grandchildren: Andy, Erin, Becky, Cheryl, Jennifer, Matthew and Martha; 12 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy Jean and a brother Lloyd.
