Fontelle Mullink, 69, died Thursday August 14, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City of Leukemia.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday August 18, 2008 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Memorials may be made to the West Liberty Rescue Unit or Iowa City Hospice.
Fontelle was born June 29, 1939 in Muscatine the daughter of Clarence and Dorothy Albaugh Beinke. She was raised in Wilton, graduating in 1956. On April 23, 1960 she was united in marriage to John Mullink in Rock Island, Illinois.
She was employed at Louis Rich Foods, Rohner Machine Works and Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty as well as E.J. Peeters Tool Company in Wilton retiring in 2001.
She was a member of the Nichols Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Nichols where she served as treasurer and a board member.
Some her happiest times were spent with her grandsons, Mick and Ben. She loved working in her yard, genealogy, being with her sisters and visiting her nephew Jeff and his family in South Carolina. She was a Iowa Hawkeye Basketball fan and enjoyed watching her husband race cars during the early years of her marriage.
She is survived by two sons: Mike (Donna) Mullink of West Liberty and Tony (Terri) Mullink of Iowa City. Grandson: Mick Mullink of Iowa City. Mother: Dorothy Beinke of West Liberty. Three Sisters: Patricia (Frank) Nelson of Muscatine, Kay Busher of Wilton and Jeanine (Wes) Murdock of Wilton as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 1987, Husband John in Sept. 2006 and grandson Ben in February 2006.
