West Branch, Iowa Richard F. Zieglowsky, 80, died Thursday April 7, 2011 at the Crestview Nursing and Rehab Center in West Branch. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 pm Monday at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Private family burial will be held in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington, Iowa. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch is in charge of arrangements. Richard was born September 30, 1930 in Washington, Iowa the son of Frederick C. and Johanna H. Wagenknecht Zieglowsky. He attended school in Ainsworth and later graduated from Cotter High School. Richard had lived in Cotter, Washington, and Iowa City before moving to West Branch in 1965. He had been employed in the maintenance dept at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics retiring in 1992. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry. He is survived by two children: Susan Reed of Grand Rapids, Michigan and David (Dorothy Cross) Zieglowsky of Muscatine. 5 Grandchildren: Hiedi Johnson, Corey Johnson, Stacy (Andrew) Johnson, Michael Zieglowsky and Daniel (Samantha) Zieglowsky and a great grandchild. Two sisters: Florence Augustine of Washington and Bernice Arnold of Sun City, Arizona. A Sister-in-law Aurealia Zieglowsky of Mason City, Illinois as well as many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Henry and Earl.
