West Liberty, Iowa Herlinda “Linda” Villarreal, 71, died Friday March 11, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral mass will be held 10:30 am Monday, March 14, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty. Visitation will be held 3 to 6 Sunday at the Church. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Linda was born August 28, 1939 in Mexico the daughter of Manuel and Betzabe Frausto Yañez. In April 1965 she was married in Eagle Pass, Texas to Evelio Villarreal. She was loved by all, sharing her love and kindness with her family, grandchildren and those who she met. Linda’s family said she was an angel; always caring, helping, cooking for anyone sick or in need. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was very devoted to her faith. Linda is survived by her husband Evelio Villarreal of West Liberty. Two children: Evelio (Eusebia) Villarreal Jr. of West Liberty and Silvia (Abel) Esquivel of Iowa City. 5 grandchildren: Alberto Villarreal, Leonel Villarreal, Brianna Villarreal, Josh Esquivel and Bianca Esquivel. Two brothers: Andres Yañez of Kyle, Texas and Pedro Yañez of Del Rio, Texas. Two sisters: Lidia Gil of San Antonio, Texas and Elia Velazquez of Del Rio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Norma, 3 brothers: Vicente Yañez, Manuel Yañez, and Jesus Yañez, 3 sisters: Ofilia Velasquez, Tomasa LaPaz and Alicia Guerrero.
