Robert Lawrence Hansen, 84 passed away at his home December 27, 2010. He was born to John E. and Anna Marie (Peterson) Hansen on November 5, 1926 in Clear Lake, Iowa. Robert was a captain in the United State Air Force and graduated from Drake University with a major in Law in 1952. He and his wife, Mary Ellen (Snyder) later moved to New London, IA where he went into law practice with Don Bell and was the Henry County magistrate until his retirement in 1998. He moved to Colorado to be with his two daughters and enjoy retirement. His love of horses never diminished and he enjoyed many days driving his horses and carriages. If you ever lost him in a crowd and didn’t see his brown Stetson, all one had to do is holler “Judge” and he was quick to respond. He loved little children and could always be found putting a smile on a toddler’s face. Robert is survived by his daughter Mickey, of West Liberty and his son-in-law Greg of Cedar Rapids. “Judge” will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him. Services are pending.
