West Liberty, Iowa Orlen Ray Stark Sr, 79, of West Liberty, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Orlen was born in Stockton, Iowa on January 8, 1929 the son of Raymond and Valara Paustia Stark. He graduated from Atalissa High School in 1948. Orlen went on to serve in the Army during the Korean Conflict where he earned the Purple Heart. He was united in marriage to Rachel W. Viegut on August 13, 1966 in Muscatine. They farmed near Atalissa for 12 years before moving to West Liberty. Orlen was employed by Louis Rich Foods until his retirement. Orlen was a member of the Cedar Valley United Methodist Church. He and Rachel enjoyed attending dances at the Col Ballroom in Davenport, Iowa, as well as playing cards and bingo. He is survived by a son: Orlen (Angie) Stark Jr., of West Liberty and a daughter: Charlene (Brian) Roszell of West Liberty, and 4 grandsons: Brandon, Raymond, Jeremy and Joshua. He is also survived by a brother: Arlo Dean (Marilyn) Stark of Eldridge, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife: Rachel in 2001.
