West Liberty, Iowa Marie A. Goldesberry, 92, formerly of Riverside died Thursday May 29, 2008 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 until 5 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Swank Cemetery, rural Lone Tree. A memorial fund has been established. Marie was born June 2, 1915 in Conesville, Iowa the daughter of Sam and Margaret Clevenger Etter. On September 26, 1931 she was united in marriage to Asa Goldesberry in Rock Island. The couple had lived in Muscatine and Conesville before moving to Riverside where they farmed for many years. In 2002, Marie moved to West Liberty to live with her son. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and baking. Survivors include Two Children: John Goldesberry of West Liberty and Norma (Evan) Watkinson of West Branch. One sister: Margaret Wichers and as well as one brother: Sam Etter. 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Asa in 1981, daughter Barbara Caffery, grandson Charles Watkinson, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
