William Lawrence "Larry" Roberts Sr., died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at his residence in West Liberty, of congestive heart failure.
There will be no services held at this time. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements.
Larry was born on September 2, 1906 in Tacoma, Washington. In high school, he was active in sports, earning seven letters and serving as the captain of the baseball, basketball and football teams. Larry was a self taught Radio and T.V. repairman. He also worked on soundstages in the motion picture industry, working specifically for Cecil B. DeMille in 1924 to 1925.
He was united in marriage to Helen Haler Stotts in San Bernadino, CA in 1934. They lived in the Oakland, CA area for most of their lives.
Larry was a member of the National Guard and a lifetime member of the Blue Lodge of the Shrine.
He is survived by his son: William Lawrence "Bill" Roberts Jr. and his wife Fern Roberts-Labuhn of West Liberty, a granddaughter: Adre Roberts-Labuhn of West Liberty, and a grandson: Bob Harris of Oregon. He was preceded in death by his mother: Peggy True, a daughter: Shirley June Roberts, and a grandson: Frank Innerbickler.
