Atalissa, Iowa Ernest E. Sivia Sr, 73 of Atalissa died Saturday June 21, 2008 at his home in Atalissa. Graveside services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday June 23, 2008 at the Klein Cemetery, rural Moscow. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established. Ernest was born April 5, 1935 in Marshall, Missouri the son of Ralph and Virginia O'Donnell Sivia. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. On October 18, 1956 he was united in marriage to Delores Phillips in Las Vegas, Nevada. He had been a union painter with Painters Local #676 for many years most recently working at Terry and Sons in Muscatine, retiring in 1993. He is survived by five children: Ernest (Debora) Sivia Jr. of Letts, Terry (David) Evans of Bennett, April (Richard) Humphries of Atalissa, Tracy Meade of Muscatine and Robin Prewitt of Coralville. One Brother: Robert Kokonen of Atalissa. 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Matthew and one brother William Sivia.
