Iowa City, Iowa L. Chad James, 78 formerly of West Liberty died Sunday April 6, 2008 at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday April 10, 2008 at the First Church United in West Liberty. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. A memorial fund has been established. Lee Chad James was born July 4, 1929 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City the son of Glen and Hulda Mishler James. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School in 1947 and attended Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, Tennessee and the University of Iowa. On September 17, 1950 he was united in marriage to Corinne Brown at West Liberty. Chad and Corinne lived in West Liberty for many years, following her death in 2002 Chad moved to Melrose Meadows in Iowa City. He later married Jean Snook Willis on October 12, 2003 in Iowa City. Chad had farmed in the West Liberty area for many years before retiring in 1985, his son joined him to farm for 10 years. He was a member of the Muscatine County Board of Supervisors for 14 years. He was a member of the First Church United, Farm Bureau and a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife Jean James of Iowa City. Two Sons: Craig James and his wife Barbara of La Feria, Texas and Brian James and his wife Bonnie, as well as their children Tyler and Jaclyn of North Liberty. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Corinne.
