Muscatine, Iowa Jerry Wayne Morris, 66, of Muscatine died Monday November 29, 2010 at Trinity Hospital in Muscatine after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 2 from 4 to 7 pm at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Jerry was born May 27, 1944 in Iowa City the son of Thomas and Ona Christensen Morris. He was a graduate of West Branch High School and Iowa State University with a B.S. in Animal Science. On March 4, 1967 he was united in marriage with Karol Finley in Nichols. He also had served in the U.S. Army for 2 years. Jerry was employed in agribusiness for over 40 years and also farmed. He was an avid sports fan, loved fishing, golfing and hobby farming. Jerry's strong wisdom, tender heart and sharp sense of humor will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Jerry is survived by his wife, Karol of Muscatine; one son, Mike (fiance Millie) Morris and children Emily and Avery of Muscatine; one daughter, Dawn (Tim) Hull and children Cody and Courtney of Muscatine. Four siblings, Don (Della) Morris of Peoria, Arizona; Norma (Monte) Whitlock of Solon, Iowa; Alan (Chris) Morris of Peoria, Arizona and Melanie (Tom) DeVore of Conesville, Iowa. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Matthew DeVore .
