West Liberty, Iowa Thomas G. Reinsager, 69, died suddenly Friday September 24, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday at the West Liberty Community Center in West Liberty with a luncheon to follow. Memorials may be made to the West Liberty Rescue Unit. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. Tom was born June 11, 1941 in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Harry and Lucile Thompson Reinsager. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School and the University of Iowa. He was a US Army veteran serving during Vietnam. On December 3, 1966 he was united in marriage to Karyl Heither in West Liberty. Upon the failing health of Tom’s father he returned from the military to work in the family restaurant, Crystal Café which he continued to operate until 1985, later that year Tom and Karyl purchased the Downtowner Restaurant operating it until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was an avid Cubs, Bears and Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Karyl of West Liberty. One daughter: Tammy (Don) Boehme of West Liberty. Two sons: Terry Reinsager and Ted Reinsager both of North Liberty. 3 grandchildren: Jake, Nick and Zoey Boehme. A special friend Lisa Rundall also survives.
