Delores Elaine (Nussbaum) Jepson, 55, died Saturday August 28, 2010 in her home in West Liberty after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Dee was surrounded by her family and loved ones. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday September 12, 2010 at the West Liberty United Methodist Church. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. Delores will be remembered as an amazingly strong woman who never gave up. Delores, more commonly known as Dee, was born July 29, 1955 in Muscatine to Phillip and Arlene Blaser Nussbaum. She resided in Wilton, then West Liberty in her youth. She was united in marriage to John Jepson on July 11, 1992 along the Cedar River in Moscow. Dee had two children Annie Renee and John Phillip. Dee graduated from West Liberty High School in 1973 and then attended the Sharon Durand School of Cosmetology, graduating in 1974. She operated her own salon in Coralville for many years. She was a former employee of Liberty Anodizing, Louis Rich Foods and the West Liberty School System. While working at the Middle School as the copy person, she put her own touches on her office. Between her love of cats and Elvis Presley, it became a shrine of Dee. She welcomed all. From puzzles to posters, pictures of friends and family, always with the happy sound of music surrounding her. She loved life and lived it to her fullest. She enjoyed time with friends and was a loyal and true friend. She was delightfully witty, but frank story teller and entertainer. She was known as the Queen of shopping. She was a talented artist who loved crafting and later became proficient in computer communications. She continued to challenge herself with mental puzzles until the very end. She is survived by her husband John Jepson of West Liberty. Daughter: Annie Renee of Winona, Minnesota and son John Phillip of West Liberty. Mother: Arlene Nussbaum of West Liberty and her brother: Lloyd Nussbaum of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Brother in Laws: Donald Jepson of Ocala, Florida, Tom (Kathy) Jepson of Iowa City, Mike Jepson of Gainesville, Florida, Pat (Deb) Jepson of Iowa City, Jerry Jepson of West Liberty. Sister-in-law: Mary Jepson of Little Rock Arkansas. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her father Phillip in 1983, aunts, uncles, sister-in-law and grandparents.
