Ainsworth, Iowa Kenneth L. Kruse, Sr., of Ainsworth, 73, died Thursday, May 13, 2010 at home following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty officiated by Rev. Kitch Shatzer. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00PM on Friday, May 14, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or the family. Mr. Kruse was born May 9, 1937, in Nichols, the son of Clarence J. and Erdine L. (Atkins) Kruse. He married Judith A. Rehben on March 12, 1960 in Tipton. He later married Rosetta M. Flake on Dec. 6, 1969 in Kahoka, Missouri. He attended West Liberty School. Mr. Kruse served overseas in the U.S. Army during peacetime. He worked as a farm hand and also worked for Crane Valves from which he retired after 25 years of employment. Surviving are his two ex-wives, children: Kenlyn Hecht of Cedar Rapids, IA Dale Kruse and friend of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Joel Kruse and wife Cathy of Stanwood, IA, Susan Street of Fruitland, IA, Eric Kruse of Cedar Rapids, IA Jeff Flake of Mt. Pleasant, IA Kenneth Kruse Jr., and wife Tammy of Ainsworth, IA Bradley Kruse and wife Mindy of Winfield, IA and Donna Kruse and friend of Olds, IA 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a daughter Marguerite Kruse and a great granddaughter Stephanie Crook.
