West Branch, Iowa Carolyn Wolf, 101, formerly of West Liberty, died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Crestview Nursing and Rehab Center in West Branch. A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Henderson Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Memorials may be made to the Melissa Wolf University of Alaska Scholarship Fund. Carolyn was born October 5, 1908 in rural Nichols, Iowa, the daughter of Harley and Jennie Crawford Idle. She then moved to Lone Tree with her family where she attended school. Carolyn was united in marriage to Howard “Duke” Wolf on November 28, 1926 in Iowa City. She was employed with the University of Iowa for over 25 years and also worked in several retail shops in West Liberty. She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son Jerry (LaVonne) Wolf, 2 grandsons Tom (Lisa) Wolf and Greg Wolf, 2 great grandchildren Erik and Taylor all of Anchorage, Alaska and sister-in-law Geraldine Idle of Washington, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard “Duke”, son Gene, and 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
