Mary Evelyn Tesar Pedersen, 90, died Friday April 2, 2010 at the Crestview Care and Rehab Center in West Branch. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday April 6, 2010 at Bethany Lutheran Church in West Branch. Visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Burial will be in the West Branch Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Mary was born June 28, 1919 in Iowa City the daughter of Leo J. and Beatrice Heddelston Tesar. She was a graduate of University High School in Iowa City. On January 29, 1941 she was united in marriage to Anton Eugene (Gene) Pedersen in Iowa City, he passed away in 1978. She had been employed at Westinghouse Learning Corp for several years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her family, watching them participate in West Branch sporting events, and University of Iowa football. Survivors include three children: Mary Jean (Gerald) Hierseman, Ronald L. (Sue) Pedersen and Thomas E. (Deb) Pedersen all of West Branch. 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Sister: Catherine Fountain of North Liberty. Brother-in-law: Glenn (Cora) Pedersen of Iowa City and two sister-in-laws: Joyce Pedersen of Iowa City and Marge Pedersen of West Branch. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Leo Tesar and John Tesar, brothers-in-law: James Fountain, Cleo Pedersen, Duane Pedersen, sisters-in-law: Shirley Tesar and Jean Tesar.
