Lone Tree, Iowa Mary L. Hanft, 95, passed away Saturday January 7, 2017 at Pioneer Village in Lone Tree. Funeral mass will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday January 11, 2017 at St. Mary's Church in Nichols with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nichols. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. Mary was born November 6, 1921 in Nichols the daughter of Ben and Hazel Mills Oostendorp. On June 12, 1948 she was married at the St. Mary’s Rectory in Nichols to Richard Hanft. Mary had been employed at Oral B in Iowa City for 22 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nichols and the Altar and Rosary Society. Survivors include two nieces: Deborah and Teresa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and three brothers Charles, Veryl and Robert.
